Description
Written for the advanced percussion ensemble, Blocks Babeee is a piece for assorted blocks, log drums and drum set.
This piece is inspired by the log drumming tradition of polynesia and the pacific islands. I extend a great appreciation to the tradition that these instruments and the musicians that play them carry and hope this piece is accepted as appreciation and a celebration.
Parts are labelled Blocks 1-6, arranged in pitch from highest to lowest.
I recommend performers use log drums, wood blocks or temple blocks of similar timbres to allow for blending of sound.
