Dawn – Handpan Album

Description

Dawn is my debut handpan album inspired by my time performing with The Stairwell Project.
Recorded on a Rav Vast B Kurd at 4EB studios.

Between 2019-2022 I was involved as a musician performing in the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital and St Vincent’s Kangaroo point.
During my time in the project, I performed in cancer wards, common walkways, stairwells, physio wards and cafeterias for staff and patients alike.

The project was created to bring musicians into the hospital space and create a space that helped staff and patients escape their minds for a while. It was an amazing project to be involved in and during my time there I found many of my improvisations slowly turn into pieces that resonated with patients who walked past.

With the support of Niyi Adepoyibi and Studio 4EB, the album was recorded in February 2023.
