Last Friday, Mac-Cussion flew to Melbourne for the next round of Australia’s Got Talent. We were so excited!
Our school principal decided to surprise us and when we were about to go on stage, we saw that our parents were in the audience! She had secretly flown one parent from each family to see us play and support us. My mum even brought little packets of lollies for all of us with little cards that said “Mac-Cussion Rulz”.
It was a very different experience to the auditions. Being on national television is pretty scary and it was interesting for me to see that each of us coped with the pressure in different ways. Not a lot of people get the opportunity to say “When I was in high school I was part of Mac-Cussion on Australia’s Got Talent”. I’m more than a bit stoked to have been a part of something so big!
This time, we played marimbas, xylophones, drum kit and more in a piece called Rochambeaux by Brian Mason, wearing white masks and using white mallets. The audience and the judges went wild.
Here is our segment of the show for your enjoyment:

Mind bending! When are you coming to the States?
Gal Baras says
Mike, if they win $250,000 in the show, their teacher will take them on a tour of the US. I hope this means Tsoof will get to meet you too (and everybody else in the family, of course)
Tamir Shlomi says
Yeh!!!
You make the original group look like amateurs…
Good rhythm and great teamwork.
