The Vision
Tsoof Baras is a collaborative, creative, and entertaining composer whose originality is seen through a curiosity and willingness to explore unique instrumentation. By combining technical percussion with visual mediums—seen in projects like SoundStruck where he explores synesthesia in works like Etna and Up the Body and Down the Page – Tsoof delivers a percussion ensemble composition that is as engaging to watch as it is to play.
His compositional and production talents have explained the rules of Table Tennis for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and entertained audiences of 40,000 at Suncorp Stadium for the NRL through his work with SoundStruck. Whether writing for a stadium or a classroom, every piece is crafted to help ensembles discover groove and collaborate.

Supported by Metro Arts, BEMAC and the Brisbane City Council, this project showcases Tsoof’s ability to score 75-minute, narrative-driven works.
