A few months ago (better late than never), I was invited by the organizers of Amnesty International’s White Ribbon Day in Brisbane to perform 5 songs related to violence against women. Sarah La Sala joined me and proved to be an amazing singing partner.
This performance was a bit challenging, because the songs had to suit the White Ribbon Day theme of violence against women. In the end, Sarah managed to come up with a few really great songs, and in a few days, we managed to pull together a good performance with a lot of meaning.
We were told afterwards that our performance attracted many people to learn more about White Ribbon Day and contribute by spreading awareness of violence against women.
This is us performing Turning Tables by Adele at Brisbane Square. We took the lyrics to a different place and the equipment created a metal guitar sound, but we think that suited the day’s message well.
Enjoy,
