Description
The Emperor’s Groove is an advanced multi-percussion solo featuring a combination skins, wood and metal instruments. An exercise in developing limb independence and swift movement across a complex setup, this piece will challenge percussionists to develop systems of playing that prioritise the groove and clarity of unpitched melodies!
This piece is written for: Bass drum or Low Taiko drum, Conga and Tumba (or Taiko drums), 2 woodblocks, Splash Cymbal or cymbal stack, China Cymbal, Ice bell or similar bell, mounted shaker or tambourine on hi-hat stand.
