Paint Drumming Project 2013!

Last year, at the beginning of 2012, I wrote a paint drumming piece for 12 percussionists. The composition was intended to be a collaboration between high schools around Queensland as part of Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage.

The idea was sparked mainly due to a past performance of mine at high school which you can see and read about Read More

Claptacular at Craptacular

This is one of my compositions from 2012, written for an event at the Queensland Conservatorium called 'Craptacular'.

It’s a performance put on by the percussion majors at the conservatorium to comment on the music we play, learn about and are encouraged to embrace, and a chance for us to compose and arrange some of our own or other popular culture works.

We all dressed up in interesting costumes to look as 'individual' as possible and had a laugh with the audience.

'Claptacular' (pun

SoundStruck Percussion and New Composition: Junglemania!

SoundStruck Percussion a Crossbows

After a few months of careful planning, some rehearsals and a few performances, I am proud to present ... (drum roll) ... SoundStruck Percussion. Earlier this year, a few of my percussionist friends from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and I had an idea to form a percussion ensemble. Thanks to our university, our families and some friendly contacts,  we got a few of our first gigs, from which we got some great recordings and some great videos.

Being in this group also gave me a chance

Singing Goodbye to our music teachers

At the end of every school year, MacGregor State High School puts on a showcase of all the school’s instrumental and vocal ensembles. It’s a brilliant event that shows off beautifully what all of us can do. ‘Music at Mac’ (as it is so wonderfully named) this year was a really great thing to be a part of. As I was a student who participated in all but the junior bands and the string program, I was busy the whole night performing as well as organising this year’s seniors to put on a show for the

New Original Song: Adventure

Hey everybody,

At my school's Vocal Soirée, I performed a new song with my beautiful sister Eden. Kudos to my sister, she's a beautiful singer and I'm really glad she performed with me, it was her first performance in public and she was wonderful. It was a great night, filled with performances from all the school choirs, as well as small ensembles and solo performances.

The new song is called "Adventure" and it's about (as the title suggests) having an adventure, leaving all the

New Acoustic Guitar Composition: Nostalgia

Yo!

The end is nigh. Coming to the end of school has become a very challenging time for me and it's been a sort of muse for all my compositions and performances.

Not long ago, I started writing a guitar duet and … now for all to see, it is finished! :) It's called 'Nostalgia' and is a rock/blues/folk fusion piece. It's a discussion of two guitars on the history of guitar music/genres/styles.

It's open to interpretation, so feel free to place this into your own life and write

Suffocation Live at MEX Recital

Hello all,

This is a video of my performance of 'Suffocation' at my Music extension class recital.

I wrote it in memory of my cousin Guy, who died in a motorcycle accident.

It is a very metaphorical piece in the way it's composed, so keep an eye out for all the hidden stuff ;)

If you want a deeper insight to the who, what, when, where and why, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see the recording and description from a few months ago.

It was really great to finally
